Caterpillar

I saw my very first caterpillar today. He was in my back yard. Until today, I had only heard about the caterpillar in one of my books.

Mommy showed me how to set the leaf out so he could climb on it.

Daddy helped me pick him up so I could have a good look. I got to pet him too. I didn't really like it when he crawled on me though... that was something I wasn't used to.

When we were finished playing with him, we put him in our tree so he wouldn't get stepped on. Bye, bye Caterpillar!!!

What is it like to be pregnant??

Visit from Cousin Kerry

Today, my Mommy's cousin, Kerry, and her dog Spanky stopped by on their way through town. Kerry went to Bend, Oregon to visit a friend and we are right on her way back to San Francisco. When they first arrived, Mommy and Fozzie took a walk with them. Spanky and Fozzie got along really well and played with each other in the backyard when they were done with their walk.

Great Grandma Norita and Grandpa Jim brought over a wonderful meal for us to eat.

Before they left, we took a few family pictures.

The ladies... with me.

Playing in My Backyard

I played outside with Mommy, Daddy and Fozzie today. We had a great time. This is me on my Kanga Climber. Cheese!!!

I'm ready to go out and play!

I like to throw my bouncy ball. Fozzie likes to steal it from me.

We had a heart to heart about it and I think he is going to ask before he takes it away.

Here is my buddy!!!

I told Mommy I wanted her to go down the slide. She said she's too big.

Here I am saying "Slide"

Ok, Fozzie - THIS ball is yours!

Mommy taught me how to look for Fozzie's "presents" in the backyard. When I find them, I make this face (above) and wave my hand up and down. Mommy and Daddy think it's funny.

Here I am saying "Baaaaaall"

And here I am with my Mommy. :)

The New Alta Mesa Playground

On March 29th, my parents and Papa built a playground. It is in Alta Mesa Park. I have already played at it 2 times! Here is a group of most of the volunteers that also helped build the playground.

There are lots of places to play in this playground.

It all started with some ideas. Design day consisted of about 30 kids drawing up their plan own for their Dream Playground. Here is one of the designs.

Daddy and a few of the other Active 20-30 guys talking to Nate, the Kaboom representative, on Design Day.

Look at Daddy wearing the cowboy hat!! All the build captains wore unique outfits.

Here they all are!!!

Daddy's group of people put this slide together and attached it.

Look at this huge pile of wood chips that had to be distributed in the playground. It was really about 6 times this size at the beginning of the day.

Papa was on the "mulch" team. Here he is dragging a tarp full of wood chips.

Landon's Daddy Don helped put the Rock Wall together.

Mommy was on the Kids Activities team. Look at the ribbon the kids made for the ribbon cutting . It was really long!

Ready to play??

Elmo's first Quad Ride

My Auntie Christine babysat me today. She brought over Tarod's Elmo doll. My Auntie is so good to me. I decided to show him around the place... on my quad! Thanks for babysitting me today!

Visit from Uncle David

Tonight my Uncle David Read came into town to go fly fishing with Grampa Steve. He brought me a mega block tow truck with lots of blocks inside. He is super nice to think of me! I wasn't feeling to good and was running a fever, so I couldn't show him how I play baseball. I fell asleep right after he arrived. I hope I see him again soon!

The next day, I opened up the gift and enjoyed the blocks! The Tow Truck is so neat because I can make it tow my fire truck.

Drew Came Over

Drew Shaboo came over and we bounced 'til we couldn't bounce anymore. My cousin Hank had to go to the hospital because he had a double ear infection. I wish he was here with us!

My New Kanga Climber

My Uncie and Auntie gave me a Kanga Climber! It was Drew's when he was my age. I LOVE it!!! Daddy cleaned it and put it together for me today.

A few notes about today

Today was a great day. Not only did I get to go play at the park that my Daddy and Mommy built, but I said my nickname for the first time today. Yes! I said Dub-J and pointed to myself. Everyone was really excited!

My parents also helped me know how to swing my baseball bat by counting 1-2-3. Tonight at my cousins' house, I was swinging the bat and hitting balls that Mommy and Daddy pitched to me! I hit one after the other.

BBQ at Grace and Sarah's

We were invited to Grace & Sarah's house tonight for a yummy smoked BBQ. I was so happy to hang out with my friends. It had been too long!!! Maybe this summer we will see each other more.

Sarah and I colored on the driveway with chalk.

She was teaching me how to share.

Here's Riley taking a drive!

Sarah gave me a flower.
What a sweet baby doll.

I tried to give a flower to her, but she wanted me to follow her that way.

I got to eat at the kids table with Grace, Sarah, and Riley. I ate a whole bunch to impress this bunch of beautiful ladies!!!
